A win for Lāhainā

Blessing our new home

Within weeks of the West Maui wildfires, the K–8 HTA Lāhainā campus got off the ground in temporary space at the Door of Faith Church. It became an immediate sanctuary — a place where more than 120 students could come together, heal, and learn during a time of immense uncertainty.

Our ʻohana just took another unforgettable step forward as Kumu Ua blessed our new home at the former Pineapple Grill in Kapalua. The facility is generously donated by the Yanai family and TY Management Group.

It was smiles and tears all around as students and families explored their future learning spaces — from cozy reading nooks and a hands-on Makerspace to EverBlock walls, a dining lānai, and outdoor green spaces to grow in.

This milestone reflects the incredible spirit of our entire community. Over the past months, parents, staff, local businesses, and community members have poured their hearts into supporting our Lāhainā students — donating time, learning materials, free lunches, and holiday gifts.

The generosity of the Yanai family now allows our staff and students to build on that positive energy.
