HTA Waipahu’s media students create award-winning video in the aftermath of the Lāhainā wildfires.
In the devastation and loss that followed the fires, HTA staff rallied to set up an entirely new school for displaced students in Lāhainā. Our Waipahu Honu Productions students documented their journey of recovery, interviewing students and staff about how the new campus starting opening new doors for the community.
Their documentary received second place in the high school division of the 2024 HIKI NŌ on PBS Hawai‘i Fall Challenge. We are proud of HTA all around!
