Welcome to a brand new year! We hope you had a fantastic summer and are geared up for another year of exciting HTA adventures and achievements. We’re delighted to have you back. Below, you’ll find all the information you need for the start of school. Please first review the details about our school information system, our computer loan program, school photos, Learning Coach workshops, and school T-shirts.

You can then click on your campus to find important dates, including sign ups, and first-week schedules and procedures.

let’s get started!

ALL THINGS HTA

HonuHub is HTA’s internal information system — this is where you will find all the resources you need for school. HonuHub is where students and Learning Coaches access everything from class schedules and Canvas login, to attendance, campus calendar, report cards, staff and Learning Coach directories, and sign ups for things such as Student-Led Conferences, Field Studies, and clubs.

Your HonuHub dashboard also houses your campus STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS — it is important to check these daily. This is where we stay in touch about everything happening on campus from testing schedules to Spirit Weeks to upcoming events.

NEW TO HTA?

Welcome! You can click here for instructions on switching from the enrollment portal to your permanent HonuHub parent dashboard.

COMPUTER LOAN PROGRAM

All HTA students must have access to a laptop for their school work and to attend virtual classes. Families are encouraged to participate in our Computer Loan Program, but a dedicated personal computer can also be used — please check the technology guidelines in the School Guidebook for specific computer requirements.

To participate in the Computer Loan Program, please sign up and pay the security deposit through HonuHub. (click here for sign-up instructions).

Please note that payments cannot be made in person and that HTA only accepts payments and issues refunds via PayPay. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can sign up for one for free.

Once your security deposit has been paid, computers can be picked up on each campus on Computer Pick Up and Picture Day — see your campus below for information.

SCHOOL IDs & PICTURE DAY

All HTA students are required to have a photo ID. Before the first day of class, each campus hosts Computer Pick Up and Picture Day. Our photos are taken by Lifetouch and are used for these student IDs as well as the yearbook.

Students coming to campus for Picture Day should be dressed in compliance with the HTA dress code (You can find this on page xxx of our School Guidebook).

If you would like to purchase these school photos, you need to do so on the Lifetouch website before Picture Day.

PLEASE SEE YOUR SPECIFIC CAMPUS BELOW FOR INFORMATION, DATES, AND TIMES FOR COMPUTER PICK UP AND PICTURE DAY.

SCHOOL T-SHIRT

Every year, our students receive an HTA T-shirt — these are great to wear when we’re out in the community and to show our school pride. The cost of the shirt is covered by the Student Fee; there is no extra charge.

And … woohoo to Kona 11th grader, Izayah K, who designed the front of this year’s shirt! Last year, Izayah and his fellow Graphic Design II students stepped into the shoes of professionals as they took on HTA as a client and designed and pitched their creations. They did an outstanding job.

Want to show your school spirit with more HTA apparel?
LEARNING COACH WORKSHOPS

We host two Learning Coach workshops before the start of the school year. These are an important introduction to HTA and the role of the Learning Coach and are required for all new Learning Coaches.

• LC101 is an introduction to our school information system, HonuHub. For families enrolled in our pbHTA program, please note there is a specific pbHTA LC101.

• LC102 focuses on our curriculum platform, Canvas.

Waipahu NuVuX 101: This workshop is only for families registered for NuVuX. All NuVuX students and Learning Coaches are expected to attend this virtual session, which will cover the design studio concept and learning model, and review the technology and materials used in the program. Please note: For new families, this orientation is in addition to LC 101 and 102.

PLEASE SEE YOUR CAMPUS BELOW FOR WORKSHOP DATES AND SIGNUPS.

LEARNING COACH DIRECTORY

One of the many helpful resources in HonuHub is our Learning Coach directory, which is designed to promote communication and resource sharing among our community. Joining the directory is optional, but a great way to build your HTA ‘ohana.

READ ALL ABOUT US

HTA’s SCHOOL GUIDEBOOK outlines everything from our academic programs, to our attendance and health policies, to our tech requirements. It also houses our ACADEMIC & BEHAVIORAL POLICIES — you will be asked to review these and sign your acceptance in HonuHub as part of your onboarding process.

Throughout the year, you can find the guidebook in your HonuHub dashboard and in the green footer of our website.

HOW WE CELEBRATE

We love to celebrate our HTA ‘ohana and all the amazing work of our students and staff. You can find daily celebrations on our HTA instagram and Facebook accounts. We also show off our students’ work on our website — these are two great places to start: Who’s Trending and Student Gallery.
