Career-Based Learning

HTA's Career-Based Learning Model

At HTA, we want our students to succeed.

We want them to positively impact their communities, face challenges with confidence, propose innovative solutions, and create their authentic paths in this life.
As part of the robust co-curricular High School Career-Based Learning Model at HTA, the Work-Based Learning (WBL) Electives, Community Service Elective and Integrated Student Project Electives were created to empower students. After all, they are the future. Our CBL model also extends to our innovative high school NuVuX program and our creatively robust middle school pbHTA program.

Our High School Career-based Learning Model
High school students who participate in our Career-Based Learning Program engage in virtual and place-based opportunities with a variety of community partners. These meaningful project-based experiences allow students to apply their academic knowledge and technical skills in a real-world setting. We believe education should extend well beyond the walls of a traditional classroom and take place through experiential learning: hands-on, personal experience. This kind of educational approach furnishes students with the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to make a difference in the world around them.

HTA's CBL Model exposes students to a diverse range of career pathways, so whether they know what they want their future to look like or are still unsure, they have plenty of opportunities to explore their passions and interests.

BENEFITS OF CBL

  • Practice and refine skills that will help you thrive both in college and your chosen career path.
  • Gain technical skills from specific companies that will help make you a distinguishable candidate.
  • Explore various career paths and gain the cognitive skills needed to excel.
  • Build your portfolio to make you more marketable for college and jobs.
